World War 1 Projects and Tank Creations

Projects

As part of our work on World War 1, the children were tasked with creating a project on a particular aspect of 'The Great War'.  The project was completed in pairs and all work was done outside of school.

'Quality over Quantity'

We placed emphasis on the children using their own words to create their written sections rather than a simple 'copy and paste' project from Wikipedia.  We also talked about how we can make our projects 'stand out' from the crowd.  The result was some excellent projects that were well researched, well written and very colourful!

Well done to all the kids!

Tank Creation

For our Art class, we used clay to create replica tanks that were first used in World War 1.  In pairs, the kids ripped, moulded and pounded their blocks of clay and fashioned them into the shape of a tank, complete with turret and tracks.  We finished them off with two coats of paint.  You'll agree the results are pretty amazing!
